Filter press appatarus for muds

Filtration and cake making properties of the drilling fluid are determined by filtration test.

• Filtration rate is a measure of fluid loss, measured in ml (cm3) of liquid loss over 30 minutes from a special filter paper at 100 psi (690 kPa) pressure.

• The ability to make mud cake is determined by the thickness and the coarseness of the filter cake residue on the filter paper at the end of the period. The filter cake is measured to the nearest 1/32 in. (0.8 mm).
