Standard : EN 12274-4 / ASTM D3910 / ISSA TB139

The test method is used to determine the minimum cohesion of cold-poured bituminous materials in order to determine the setting time and the time to recirculation.

The setting corresponds to the end of the irreversible process of coalescence of the emulsion.

The time taken thus corresponds to the time between the casting of the material and the setting.

Twisting torque is measured on five samples of the same cold-cast material at appropriate intervals after casting.
