It measures the fineness of Portland cement as specific surface area by observing the time taken for a constant amount of air to pass through a compressed cement bed of specified dimensions and porosity.
The device is complete with glass U-tube manometer valve, steel stand, test cell with piston made of stainless steel, rubber aspirator, 100 pieces of filter paper, and manometer fluid.
