The device is suitable for performing four types of tests in site and laboratory applications:
- Measures the surface friction and slip resistance properties of road asphalt.
- For polished stone value tests on aggregate (Irregular samples).
- Measurement of the Unpolished Skid Resistance Value (USRV) according to EN 1341, 1342 standards.
- Method for determining the Unpolished Skid Resistance Value (USRV) according to EN 1338 standard for concrete paving blocks for floorings.
The pendulum friction test equipment includes a pendulum with standard rubber mounted at its end, pushed by a spring. During the pendulum's oscillating motion, the friction force between the rubber friction mass and the surface of the test sample is measured by determining the decrease in the pendulum's oscillation distance using a calibrated scale, and is used to evaluate the friction properties of the sample.
