Binder recovery device, Rotating evaporator method
Product Code: AB020
Categories:
Standards and Applications
Standards: EN 12697-1, EN 12697-3, ASTM D5404, AASHTO TP2
The device is used to recover soluble bitumen from asphalt pavement for further testing. During the process, the solvent is distilled by partially immersing the rotary evaporator apparatus into the rotary distillation flask before the solvent and asphalt (bitumen) are extracted. The solution in the oil bath is subjected to partial high vacuum according to EN 12697-3 (±0.1 kPa) or according to nitrogen gas flow according to ASTM D5404 and AASHTO TP2. The recovered asphalt (bitumen) is used for subsequent tests.
