Scope

The TESTFORM HGTC automatic air permeability testing apparatus is used to determine the air permeability resistance of all kinds of fabrics (knitted, woven and non-woven), paper, film, leather and similar materials.

What is air permeability?

Fabric permeability refers to the air permeability of the fabric when there is a pressure difference on both sides of the fabric, that is, the volume of air flowing through the fabric on both sides and the area per unit time under the specified pressure difference between the two sides. Since the pressure difference is a necessary condition for air flow, the air flow through the fabric can only be generated by maintaining a certain pressure difference on both sides of the tested fabric.

Importance of fabric permeability

Fabric permeability is an important factor affecting fabric comfort and service performance. For example, sportswear, windbreakers and warm clothing have higher requirements for fabric permeability, and some industrial textiles such as parachutes and filter fabrics have special requirements for fabric permeability. Only fabrics that meet the air permeability conditions can meet the different needs of our lives and production.

Test principle for air permeability

The Touch Screen Air Permeability Testing Apparatus HGTC is a device developed to accurately and quickly detect air passage under preset air pressure by tightly attaching fabric samples (woven, knitted and non-woven textile materials) to a selected test head. A compression lever is used to attach the sample to the apparatus. To start the test, the compression lever is pressed against the buttons in front of the apparatus, and a powerful vacuum pump is used to evacuate the air inside the ring-shaped interchangeable test head. While the preset test pressure is automatically provided in a regular manner, the air permeability of the test sample is measured in a previously selected unit and displayed on the digital screen within a few seconds. Pressing the compression lever down a second time causes the vacuum pump to shut off and the sample to be released. Sample Holders: A 20 cm² test head is supplied with the apparatus.

With the 7-inch touch screen, you can perform all test functions, and with FalconPro software, you can also do reporting, archiving and statistical results. If you wish, you can create your own standards and perform your tests with a single click. The administrator can grant full or limited permissions to all other users (permissions such as testing, deleting tests, accessing archive can be defined separately for each user) and each user can operate the device with their own password. It is easy to use and requires minimal training.

Quick Change Test Orifices

Switching between different test orifices is quick and easy and can be done without disconnecting the air pressure sensors, as with some competing devices. The orifice change takes place from a pneumatically operated chamber that opens and closes with a single button press.

Storage

An accessory inside the HGTC stores the orifices in an orderly manner.

Large Test Bed

The HGTC's test fixture can accommodate large samples and is suitable for testing various different materials and finished garments.
