Filtration test device

The filtration and cake forming properties of the drilling fluid are determined by filtration test.

• Filtration rate is the measurement of fluid loss, which is the measurement in ml (cm³) of the fluid loss through a special filter paper within 30 minutes under 100 psi (690 kPa) pressure.
• The cake forming property of the mud is determined by the thickness and hardness of the filter cake residues on the filter paper at the end of the period. The filter cake is measured to the nearest 1/32 inch (0.8 mm).
