Profometer - Rebar Locator and Concrete Cover Meter

The Profometer - Rebar Locator and Cover Meter, produced by Proceq, is the sixth generation of quality instruments designed to determine the location and measurement of concrete reinforcement steel. These models offer more flexibility, productivity, and advanced technology than ever before with high-resolution color touchscreen operation, internal 8GB flash memory, dual-core processors, and instant model upgrades by purchasing an activation key.

Profometer models have superior detection range and sensitivity. Bar position can be detected and concrete cover can be measured up to 185 mm depth with less than ± 4 mm cover sensitivity. Shallow depths can produce ± 1 mm diameter accuracy. Diameters of 40 mm bars can be identified up to 63 mm depth with ± 1 mm accuracy. Detection and measurement limits and sensitivity are affected by cover depth and bar diameter. The 7-inch (178mm) IP54 rated color touchscreen is 800x480 pixels.

There are three models, each with a color touchscreen housed in a rugged enclosure to protect against harsh field conditions. They also come with a universal probe, integrated spot probe, and removable wheeled scanning carriage, 1.5m probe cable, power supply, carrying strap, and carrying case. ProfometerLink software is also included, allowing for data download and creation of customized reports with detailed charts and graphs. The optional CN396-10 Wired Telescopic Extension Pole makes data collection on floors or overhead areas more efficient and less tiring. All Profometer® 6 units share the same hardware and basic electronics, differing only in current software features. Upgrade Kits are sold separately and consist of activation keys to unlock features that convert CN396-01 to CN396-02 and CN396-01 to CN396-03. Each model can be directly converted to a CN411 Profometer - Corrosion Meter (sold separately) by purchasing the CN414-03 Conversion Kit and desired Corrosion Electrode (Rod, Single, or Four-Wheel). The 3.6V internal battery of the measuring device can last up to 8 hours in standard mode.

The CN396-01 Profometer 600 precisely locates rebar steel and ensures accurate evaluation of cover depth. In addition to avoiding damage to the reinforcement matrix when drilling, coring, or cutting concrete, it is ideal for determining adequate concrete cover over steel in large areas or for point checks. Operating in detection mode, it locates the position and orientation of the rebar bar while measuring bar diameter and cover depth. On-screen visual prompts provide control over signal strength and speed, and the integrated spot probe offers additional identification in corners or congested reinforcement areas. Settings can be accessed directly from the measurement screen. Inclined rebar bars are automatically detected. Snapshot and statistical views show a comprehensive graph of the data measured on screen. While cover and diameter are shown for each rebar bar in the snapshot view, the statistical view presents a graphical representation of the cover depth distribution. Measured values can be easily evaluated directly on screen. To continue measuring, you just need to reopen the saved files. Stored data can be easily transferred to a computer via USB port using ProfometerLink software.

The CN396-02 Profometer 630 AI offers enhanced functionality over the CN396-01 with the addition of Single Line, Multi-Line, and Area Scan modes. Single and multi-line scans allow for continuous recorded cover measurements over long distances, with or without bar diameter measurements. Colors can be assigned to show cover and bar diameter parameters to quickly highlight relevant areas. The area scan feature provides a simplified view of cover data over a large area. This facilitates evaluating compliance with the codes required for corrosion protection and fire resistance of slabs and structural walls.

The CN396-03 Profometer 650 AI offers all the reporting features of CN396-02 and adds Proceq's unique Cross-Line Scan measurement mode and analysis functions. The 2D Cross-Line Scan feature allows linear scans on the X and Y axes to be combined in a single display of the first and second layers of reinforcement bars. Details of cover, bar diameter, and signal strength are displayed. Adjustments can be made to signal strength gain and offset to define specific features, such as allowing only the first rebar bar to be displayed.
