Air Permeability Testing Device - Schopper Method Air Permeability Testing Device

Application

Cement bag paper, paper bag paper, cable paper, photocopy paper, industrial filter paper, etc. All of these need to have their air permeability determined. This test apparatus has been designed and manufactured for the various papers mentioned above.

The test apparatus consists of a vessel, a clamp holder, and a pressure gauge mounted on a fixed support. The top of the vessel has a vent valve and a funnel-shaped water filling valve. Distilled water is injected into the vessel through the water filling valve using a funnel. At the bottom of the vessel, there is an overflow valve and an adjustment valve to control water flow.

The pattern clamp ring is fixed to the bracket, and there is a 10 cm² hole in both the pattern clamp ring and the air box. The air box is located below the clamp ring. There are two connectors on the air box. The rubber hose is connected to the exhaust pipe and the pressure gauge respectively.

The base of the apparatus is the foundation of the entire device and has a level controller on it. There are adjustment screws to adjust the horizontal position of the apparatus.

Working Principle

The average air flow rate per unit area of the paper sheet per unit time and the pressure difference under specified conditions. The apparatus is suitable for papers with air permeability between 1 × 10-2 and 1 × 102 µm / (Pa · s). It is not suitable for papers with high surface roughness.

Operating Conditions

Room temperature (20 ± 10) ⁰C in a clean air environment, placed on a sturdy and stable workbench.
