Evaluation method according to the clauses of this standard: 5.7.2.3

When the test specified in clause 5.7.2.3 is applied, after 5 washing test procedures, the arithmetic average of the uncleaned area on the inner surface of the cistern below the water surface in the toilet and the surrounding wash holes or channel for each test must not exceed 50 cm².

For rimless toilets, the area to be tested is the distance between the water surface and the horizontal line 85 mm below the upper edge of the toilet cistern.

5.7.2.3 Shavings Test

5.7.2.3.1 Test Materials

20 grams of dry, fine sawdust.

5.7.2.3.2 Test Method

The area below the surrounding wash holes or channel is wetted up to the water surface in the toilet. Immediately thereafter, sawdust is sprinkled completely and evenly over the wetted surface. The water in the reservoir is drained and the unwashed area inside the cistern is measured. This process is repeated 5 times.
