The proportional caliper is a device used for the rapid determination of the percentage of flat and elongated particles in coarse aggregate fractions of 9.5 mm or larger.
The device consists of a 152.4 x 406.4 mm base plate with two fixed posts and a 330.2 mm rotating arm mounted between the posts, so that there is an opening at the end of each arm.
